Mattie’s is a revival of the restaurant at historic Green Pastures. With a legacy that winds back to 1893 in the heart of South Austin, Green Pastures has provided a unique setting for generations of families to celebrate. Mattie’s was named for one of the original matrons of Green Pastures, a woman known for her quirky hospitality which drew in neighbors and national politicians alike.
For the restaurant, we scoured historical archives for writing samples, recipes and more to create a brand identity which feels at once familiar and new.
